Privacy policy

Analytics. On the public site (not when you run the project on localhost), we use PostHog for product analytics: for example page views as you navigate the app, and events tied to using options and loading rating data. PostHog processes those events on their systems. See PostHog’s documentation for how they handle and retain event data.

Theme and preferences. Display settings such as theme (light/dark) and title language are stored in your browser (for example localStorage) so the site can remember your choices. They are not used to identify you across sites.

Ratings and public data. Anime Stats shows anime episode and related information from public sources (including MyAnimeList via the Jikan API and, depending on your settings, supplementary fetching such as forum pages). We do not require a MyAnimeList account to browse general stats on the site. When you search for a series or load charts, your browser requests data needed to render those views; those requests may be logged by our hosting provider like any normal web traffic.
